VW Amarok Enters Beast Mode With Wide Fenders And Massive Ground Clearance

May 30, 2023

The V6-powered version of the pickup benefits from a 5.9-inch (150 mm) lift, a wide bodykit and a set of 33-inch tires

The second generation of the VW Amarok is sharing its underpinnings with the Ford Ranger but unlike its American sibling, it hasn't gotten a beefed-up version from the factory yet. Thankfully, Amarok owners who want more off-road credentials can opt for the Beast 2.0 package by Delta 4×4.

The 2023 VW Amarok Beast 2.0 was previewed in official renderings on November 2022, but now Delta 4×4 showed us the first example of the vehicle in the flesh.

The bodykit is a bit toned down as the 60 mm (2.4-inch) fender extensions look slightly smaller compared to the renderings, although they are now better integrated with the original design and body-colored.

The highlight of the modified midsize pickup is the significantly increased ground clearance courtesy of a 100 mm (3.9 inches) body lift and an extra 50 mm (2 inches) spring distance kit. This means that the Beast 2.0 sits 150 mm (5.9 inches) higher than the stock Amarok, translating to 385 mm (15.1 inches) of ground clearance.

The VW Amarok Beast 2.0 rides on a new set of BF Goodrich MT KM3 tires measuring 305/60R18. The grippy rubber is wrapped around the 18-inch Hanma alloy wheels which are finished in black. Other modifications include the additional 6-inch PIAA LEDs on the grille, the sidesteps, the Delta 4×4 emblems, and the black trim below the tailgate. The tuner is also working on a roof rack solution and a protective plate for the engine.

Speaking of the powertrain, the Ford-sourced 3.0-liter V6 diesel engine remains stock, producing 238 hp (177 kW / 241 PS) or 247 hp (184 kW / 250 PS) depending on the market. Power is transmitted to all four wheels through a 10-speed automatic gearbox as in the Ford Ranger.

Delta 4×4 said that all of the components for the VW Amarok Beast 2.0 will be made available soon, coming with a TÜV certificate. Pricing will be announced at a later date.
